Retaining walls do real structural work. We engineer them with proper base, drainage, and geogrid where needed, so they stay plumb season after season.

Deciding on who to work with for a significant pool and landscaping project is never without its risks. Will the project be completed on time and on budget? Will it exceed expectations? Will the process be smooth, and most importantly, fun?

Tom and his team replaced our retaining wall, or what was left of it ( very old! ). From the start we felt comfortable with Tom and his vision of the final product. His team was hard working all day and clearly have a great working
Overview
From low garden walls to multi-tier grade transitions, we design walls that solve the actual problem — managing grade, water, and load — while looking like they were always meant to be there.
Bigger walls get engineered drainage behind them, geogrid reinforcement tied back into the slope, and a proper compacted leveling pad. We build them so you never have to think about them again.
What's included
Techo-Bloc, Unilock and Permacon engineered wall systems.
Armour stone and weathered limestone for an organic look.
Clear stone backfill, drain tile, and weep-out where needed.
Tied back into the slope on taller walls for long-term stability.
Stone steps and landings designed as part of the wall.
Finished cap stones and low-voltage lighting built in.
Our process
One crew, one point of contact, regular updates — no surprises.
We assess grade, soil, and water flow before quoting.
Wall layout, materials, and engineered details where required.
Compacted leveling pad and proper depth — non-negotiable.
Block or stone set plumb, clear-stone backfill, geogrid tied in.
Frequently asked
In Ontario, walls over roughly 1 metre (3.3 ft) generally require engineered drawings. We coordinate with engineers when needed and handle permits.
Most failed retaining walls failed because of water, not load. Trapped water freezes, expands, and pushes walls over. Proper clear-stone backfill and drain tile is what makes a wall last.
Segmental block is more economical, engineered for height, and very consistent. Natural stone costs more but looks organic and timeless. Both work — it's a budget and style call.
